Born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan, Bryan still makes his home there with his four children and wife Dawn. “Growing up on Lake Michigan has been a blast for sure. Being able to make your way to the shores of one of the largest inland lakes in the world has been a wonderful thing. Working as an artist in this town though, can be challenging as it seems far removed from the majority of my audience”.
Bryan’s interest in art started when he was a child. His father thought for sure he was bound to become a commercial artist while watching Bryan draw one day. That seemed to stick. So it was off with the thoughts of becoming an astronaut and on to becoming an artist.
It wasn’t however until many years later that that dream would become reality.
Bryan began his career in earnest with military art, mainly the Coast Guard and Air Force. He is today, branching out in many other areas as a realist. Bryan works exclusively in acrylics. “If it was not for that medium, I am not sure I would continue to paint!” states Bryan.
His works are now largely for sale and occasionally he does pieces that have been commissioned. Being President of the Lake Michigan Art Walk, owner of his own business, husband and father of four, with 34 years of advertising and publishing experience, has led Bryan to enjoying a complete life.
